SYRACUSE, NY Staff members from White Branch Library, located at 763 Butternut Street in Syracuse, will be on hand at the second annual Festival of Many Nations on Saturday, September 6, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Assumption Church parking lot on the 800 block of North Salina Street.
The event will feature an afternoon of fun, ethnic foods, music, dance performances and more. White Branch Library staff will showcase multicultural reading materials and provide information for new residents who are interested in learning English. Staff members will also provide a craft for the festival’s youngest visitors. Children will make a Mancala board out of egg cartons. The staff will then teach them how to play Mancala, which is an ancient African board game.
The event is sponsored by the Franciscan Collaborative Ministries, a non-profit community renewal organization that aims to revitalize the North Side of Syracuse.
